With our dance recital complete, another season is finished in the Friendly City of Woodstock!
Congratulations to all of our dancers and all of our parents for an amazingly successful Recital Weekend! I hope that you are all as proud of your dancers I am today. Every single dancer worked their little bum off to make our two shows such a spectacular. I am simply in awe of the dedication and hard work displayed by our all of our dancers – from the adorable munchkins all the way to our too cool for school seniors. Our dancers made this show amazing!
And of course, our dancers could not have done it without the ongoing love and support from their families. From running back and forth to class, arranging for all the “recital extras” like DVDs, photos, etc. You parents make it all happen. I am so incredibly thankful for all of your love and support this season. The Footprints Family is why all of this happens every single year. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in this crazy little thing we call dance! As Footprints continues to grow and introduce new programs and expand on old ones, we hope that you will continue to trust Footprints Dance Centre with your children’s dance education.
Another thank you is due to my amazing teaching staff: Olivia Fulford, Nicole Van Klavern and Nicole Trewin, as well as our many assistants this year: Miss Chelan, Miss Lauren, Miss Rebekka and Miss Gabby. You are all talented individuals whose help I could not do without. None of this would be possible without your many tireless hours of patience, understanding and hard work.
This year’s theme, “Let’s Get Loud,” is meant to celebrate all of our accomplishments over the last five years. The studio has grown so much since Year 1 and we are all the stronger, prouder and more beautiful for it. From introducing new programs like our Holiday Spirit Squad, Adult Drop-In Classes and our lovely little Broadway Babies, the past five years have really transformed the reality of Footprints. The values and the goals remain the same but now we are better equipped to deliver our messages of true body love, passion for dance and self-confidence to all of our dancers.
We also celebrated our Five Years of Great Dancing Award Recipients this year at our Body & Soul Awards Gala this year. I could not be prouder to see the growth, determination and loyalty from these young dancers. These dancers started with us when the studio was just a weekend project while I was attending university and have continued to dance with us through the years.
All of the dancers pictured above perfectly embody the values of Footprints Dance Centre. These dancers have a growth mindset – they value the process of their learning. They also value the life lessons that dance gives them – from perseverance and confidence to the everyday necessities of respect and balance. These dancers understand how to “kick ball change” but also how dance has helped them become better citizens of the world.
It has been an absolute pleasure watching your children grow and develop this year and I could not be prouder to say that each of these children have left their footprints in my heart. Thank you for choosing Footprints Dance Centre.
