Our Competitive Team debuted their 2019 Competition Routines on March 10, 2019 at our 7th Annual Showcase Performance in Woodstock. I could not be prouder of how well our dancers came together to make this fun event such a success.
Each and every year our competitive students debut their competition routines for their friends and family at our Showcase performance. This year Showcase took place at Woodstock’s Market Centre Theatre on March 10. The dancers attended dress rehearsal early in the morning and then returned with hair and make up complete for their performance at 4:00pm.
What is a Competitive Showcase?
This is the first time that their friends and families are seeing the finished product live and in action. With costumes, make up and hair, the finishing touches of their dances are there. It is up to the dancers to bring their routines to the next level with “ooh” and “aahhh” precision. However, performing for your friends and family can be one of the toughest crowds there is. If you can keep your smile and focus while seeing your Mom smiling back at you front and centre, then you will definitely be able to rock it on stage at competition!
A Note from Miss Lainy
Our competition team continues to inspire me every year with their dedication, commitment and enthusiasm. By Showcase time this year, our dancers had overcome issues with injury, family emergencies and met each and every challenge with the grace and perseverance that dance has taught them over the years.
At Footprints Dance Centre we compete to empower our dancers through inclusion, acceptance and sportsmanship with their true dance family. Each year I am reminded of how our dancers embody this vision as we step into Showcase and greet our competitive year with a smile on our face and glitter in our hair!
Here’s to a great season dancers!
