It’s hard to believe that the Holiday season is already here and in full swing! As we move into the holiday season it is especially important to us at Footprints that we are instilling the giving and charitable power of dance within our students. We offer a number of opportunities for students to give back to their community this month through our Fill the Sleigh Campaign for DASO Fundraiser (Domestic Abuse Services Oxford) and our performance company Holiday Spirit Squad.
We are excited to continue with our Fill the Sleigh Campaign in December. We will be hosting this campaign in support of Domestic Abuse Services Oxford. Dancers are encouraged to donate canned food items and new toiletries to help us fill the sleigh. All of these items will be put directly back into the community that helps to support and shape us all.
Please feel free to donate any of the following items:
- Non-Perishable Food Items (cookies, crackers, cereal, school lunch items, coffee/tea/ juice, canned pasta, ketchup, soup, etc)
- Craft Supplies (markers, colouring books, washable paints, glue, glue sticks, canvases, party supplies, white t-shirts)
- Toiletries & Clothing (hair conditioner, face wash, nail clippers, tweezers, Tampax tampoons, PJs, socks and underwear)
- Urgent Shelter Needs (twin bed sheets, pillows, towels, HE Laundry detergent, bleach, dryer sheets, plastic totes, foam hand soap, etc)
- Seasonal Needs (crock pots, gift certificates, pre-paid cell phone cards, etc)
- For a full listing of items please visit: http://daso.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Wish-list-May-2016.pdf
All donations collected will be donated to DASO by the end of the month.
Our dancers are also given the opportunity to give back to the community by providing free performances throughout the community.
Our Holiday Spirit Squad will be out in full swing this month! Our very first presentation will be at our 5th Annual Festivus Party on Friday December 9. We will then be showcasing at Park Place Retirement On December 10 at 3:30 and then again at the Woodstock Art Gallery at 12:30pm.
