We were super excited to present a special performance in association with Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) Woodstock on March 28, which saw “Littles” show off what they learned over the course of eight weeks of dance classes at the studio in the SOAR Program.

The BBBS students danced a jazz and a hip-hop routine and wowed their assembled friends and family with some new moves they picked up with us under the direction of Miss Nicole Trewin.

The performance and corresponding dance classes come as part of BBBS Woodstock’s SOAR program, which provides opportunities for Littles that are waiting to be matched with a Big to explore activities in their community.

Dancers take a bow!

This marks Footprints Dance Centre’s second partnership with BBBS for SOAR, after their first collaboration in 2017. The eight-week program is a part of our commitment to serving and improving our community, and bringing all the joys of dance and dance education to children who may otherwise not have the chance to discover it.

It’s such a treat to see the growth and happiness in all of our BBBS students. We’re so happy to have the opportunity to provide these kids a safe place to express themselves and experience the joy of dance and movement.

No party is complete without cake!

FDC Littles also got the chance to create their own costumes in craft sessions each week, where they designed and tie-dyed shirts and created head pieces for each routine — caps for hip-hop and headbands for jazz.

Thank you for an incredible 8 weeks together dancers!
