As a dance community, it has been difficult to come physically together over the past few years. That is why this month at Footprints Dance Centre, we are focusing on helping our dancers celebrate their love of dance and engage with one another once again.

Our teachers helped to guide the dancers through different exercises that would help them bond and connect with one another:

  •  a fun game that highlighted different things that the dancers had in common with one another
  • participate in a “Flocking” exercise that challenged them to be in tune with one another in order to move in unison as a group and make sure that no dancer was left behind
  •  split up into small groups and worked as a team to choreography their own Butterfly (spring) dance that were inspired by friendship and kindness

Community is such a powerful thing and friendships made at the dance studio have the potential to be friendships that last a lifetime! After a very difficult few years where we all experienced tough moments of isolation, it feels SO great to be together once again and feeling that sense of connection, community and support from our fellow dance friends.

One thing is for sure; the love of dance is something we ALL have in common here!
