In the midst of this global pandemic, we are doing our best to make some lemonade for our dancers! We aired our first-ever virtual, end-of-year recital on Saturday June 20. And although our community could not gather in a traditional theatre, we did get the chance to celebrate dance from the comfort of our own homes.
How did the Virtual Recital Happen?
The YouTube video, running nearly an hour, premiered after around a month of work. Everyone from our dancers to the parents and of course, our Footprints staff chipped in to make it an unforgettable event.
Our recital featured compilations of dancers of all age groups dancing their hearts out, along with some encouraging words from our staff. In order to make the recital possible, parents filmed their children dancing in their homes, or outside, and submitted the footage.
Editing for the recital was provided by TJ Media Group, a local video production outlet.
The Celebration
The video was viewed by families in and around Woodstock and featured submissions by more than 175 local dancers. On Saturday June 20 we set a YouTube Premiere to allow our dancers the opportunity to watch it together with friends and family. Many families celebrated with special treats for the viewing party, or had their dancers dress up in their recital costumes to do the viewing.
Thank You!
A big thank you goes out to all of the families who have continued to support Footprints during this difficult time. None of this would be possible without you!
