August is a busy month at Footprints Dance Centre! This Woodstock dance studio is busy keeping up with summer camp and getting ready for our fall season. From our Summer Sass Squad performances to our competitive bootcamp and our fun summer camps, August is sure to be a busy month.
Our Summer Sass Squad has three stand out performances lined up for this August. You can catch our “At the Movies” show at the Woodstock Art Gallery on Friday August 10 at 3pm or at the Main Stage as a part of Summer Streetfest on August 11 at 10:00am. Then our Summer Sass Squad will be back at it on August 18 at 2:00pm for their final performance at Woodstock’s Caressant Care. All of our performance team dancers have been working so hard to spread some joy in our community. We are so incredibly proud of these dancers and their dedication to their community.
Our Competitive Team continues their training at their once a week training sessions this month. During these classes dancers will work on strengthening their technique and learn new choreography.
Continuing in the summer theme, our Summer Sessions begin July 12. We are super excited to be running this six-week dance program for ages 3-18. Our Teacups (Ages 3-4) have the option of ballet or hip-hop and our Tulips (Ages 5-6) will be dancing acro. Juniors (Ages 7-10) will have jazz and acro classes and then our Intermediates and Seniors (Ages 11-18) will have contemporary and acro each Thursday night. Our Summer Sessions will have their informal performance showing on August 16 during their regular class time.
And, of course, no summer would be complete without summer camp! This August we will be hosting movie buffs for our full day At the Movies Camp on August 13-17 and little princes and princesses for our Fairy Tale Half-Day Camp from August 20-24. At the Movies Camp is open to kids ages 7-12 who love to dance and love the movies! Our Fairy Tale Half Day Camp is designed for little princes and princesses ages 3-6 who love dancing, crafts and playing dress up. Both summer camps will culminate in a final performance on Friday for friends and family to come watch!
