Miss Emily
Instructor
Miss Emily began dancing at the age of 3 in Brantford, Ontario and has over 20 years of dance experience, including competing at various competitions across Southern Ontario. She has extensive training in many styles including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe, Musical Theatre, and Acro.
Miss Emily shares her love of Musical Theatre by choreographing with various theatres over the past 8 years. She is currently a frequent volunteer with Theatre Woodstock and has been a new member to their STAGES program, directing and choreographing for both their fall and spring shows for their 2022-2023 season.
Miss Emily has a specialization with Acro and in the past has performed at festivals and on television as a contortion act. Miss Emily is an Acrobatic Arts certified teacher who continues to expand her dance knowledge through certificates and workshops and hopes to keep doing so in the future. Most recently, in March 2024 Miss Emily completed the Flexibility and Contortion Workshop with retired Cirque du Soleil contortionist Meaghan Wegg.
Miss Emily is a University of Waterloo graduate with an honours specialization in Literature and Rhetoric and has also earned a Masters Degree in English (Public Texts) with Trent University. Miss Emily was happy to continue to expand her dance knowledge and technique by participating in both theatre and dance while working towards her university degrees, as well as dabbling in Ballroom and Latin classes at the same time.
Miss Emily has been teaching at Footprints since 2022 and continues to bring the excitement and fun to class!
