And just like that another year of dance is complete! Thank you to our entire Footprints Family for making this year’s recital, A Night to Remember such a tremendous success!
Congratulations to all of our dancers and all of our parents for an amazingly successful Recital weekend for our Night to Remember shows! Every single dancer worked so incredibly hard throughout the year to make the amazing product you saw on stage during our four shows. I am simply in awe of the dedication and hard work displayed by our all of our dancers – from the adorable teacups all the way to our most experienced seniors. Our dancers made this show amazing!
And of course, our dancers could not have done it without the ongoing love and support from their families. From running back and forth to class, arranging for all the “recital extras” like DVDs, photos, etc. You parents make it all happen. I am so incredibly thankful for all of your love and support this season. The Footprints Family is why all of this happens every single year. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in this crazy little thing we call dance! As Footprints continues to grow and introduce new programs and expand on old ones, we hope that you will continue to trust Footprints Dance Centre with your children’s dance education.
Another thank you is due to my amazing teaching staff: Olivia Fulford, Nicole Brown, Nicole Trewin, Kasia Szkolka, Jenna MacNeil and Kristen Tschirhart as well as our many assistants this year: Miss Chelan, Miss Gabby, Miss Rachael, Miss Kaylie, Miss Bailey, Miss Abbi, Miss Abbey and Miss Candice. And of course, the lady behind the desk – Miss Stacy! You are all talented individuals whose help I could not do without. None of this would be possible without your many tireless hours of patience, understanding and hard work.
Last year marked our 5th anniversary and with it we decided to honour our most dedicated students with our Five Years of Great Dancing Trophies. Last year we were excited to present these trophies to six of our dancers and this year we recognized eight dancers for their Five Years of Great Dancing with us.
All of the dancers pictured above perfectly embody the values of Footprints Dance Centre. These dancers have a growth mindset – they value the process of their learning. They also value the life lessons that dance gives them – from perseverance and confidence to the everyday necessities of respect and balance. These dancers understand how to “kick ball change” but also how dance has helped them become better citizens of the world.
With all of the excitement we also honoured Miss Gabby’s graduation at this year’s recital. Next year she will be heading off to McMaster University for Life Sciences. Gabby and I met when we were both attending the same dance studio. I didn’t know much about her then, she was just another little kid at the studio and I was a big kid. Fast forward a couple of years, Footprints opened and Gabby was there on Day One and she’s been with us every since. From her first pair of pointe shoes to her first assistant class and now her final bow.
It has been an absolute pleasure watching your children grow and develop this year and I could not be prouder to say that each of these children have left their footprints in my heart. Thank you for making this weekend a Night to Remember and for choosing Footprints Dance Centre.
