September is such an exciting time of year! The start of a new dance year brings an invigorating fresh start for staff, parents, and dancers alike! For our 2023/2024 dance season, we welcomed many new and returning students into the Footprints Family. Each year, we like to kick-start the beginning of our season with an Open House! And this one was suuuuuuper sweet!
Our annual open house is a great way to amp up some anticipation and excitement for a brand new dance year! It provides returning dancers a chance to catch up with their dance friends in a fun and social environment, as well as providing our new families an opportunity to get familiar with the space, the staff, their fellow dancers, and the fun, creative vibes that Footprints Dance Centre has to offer.
This year’s Open House theme was The Candy Jam Jamboree and was inspired by all things CANDY! We encouraged students and family members to tour through all four of our operating studios to check out all the fun and exciting activities we had planned! As they entered the building, attendees were greeted in our shoe room with a giant candy themed FDC photobooth! As they toured through the blue studio, every attendee was welcomed with a brand new, limited edition FDC t-shirt for FREE! The blue studio also featured a photo display of this season’s teachers with photos and bios highlighting their impressive credentials.
Next on the tour was our purple studio, which was filled with balloons and excitement. This station featured a video projection of last season’s production of the Nutcracker. It also included costume displays and information about our upcoming Nutcracker show.
Upstairs in the pink studio, guests could join in on a fun candy craft! Dancers had a blast making fruit loop jewelry to wear. In the yellow studio, we of course had to have a snack station (a Candy Jam Jamboree just wouldn’t have been complete without one)! As always, our front desk was bustling with registrations, questions, and dress code fittings/pickups. Parents and dancers were thrilled to see a brand new drop of limited edition FDC merch at the front desk as well as an adorable display that stretched down the entire length of the lobby and welcomed each and every student with their name on their own little cupcake decoration.
Our staff had a great time hosting such a fun day, and loved having an early opportunity to meet their new students and reconnect with their returning ones. It was hard not to get caught up in the sweet sweet excitement, surrounded by cute candy decor and high energy anticipation for the wonderful year ahead!
